Honestly, if it means something to you, then it means something special, and that gets recognized. People don't become celebrated poets by just throwing a bunch of poems out there and then hoping "one sticks". I believe Van Gogh never sold a single one of his paintings. Write because you want to, not because you want to be the best or because you want to be recognized. Because if you don't you will loose the taste and desire to write in general. The way you get recognized is to go out and do the hard work (actual job aspect) or promoting it. If you want to get yourself in the eyes of many you will need to get in there face with it, because the majority of people are lazy and are not searching for the next best thing -- you have to show them that you are by bringing to them and by getting their attention first.

lol, well if anything I hoped that helped a little bit. Just write because it's something you like to do above all else. I like doing art too, and I know it's nothing I would be able to make a living on, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying it and producing it.

Oh, and your work must mean something otherwise people like me wouldn't favorite it and comment about it lol.
